November 19 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Legally carry in our neighboring states
One Thursday evening in Mount Vernon covers the class requirement for your Connecticut, New Jersey, and Utah non-resident carry permits. Take one state or all three. We’ve helped well over 100 students get their non-resident permits.
Who it’s for
- You must have a valid New York State or NYC carry permit to attend for CT and NJ.
Connecticut
✅ The shooting portion of the NRA Basic Pistol class, which CT requires. You completed the lecture portion in your NY class; the shooting portion is much longer than the NY qualification.
✅ Application paperwork and the required passport photos, provided
✅ Also meets Florida’s carry permit requirements
New Jersey
✅ New Jersey law review and live-fire qualification (details below)
✅ Your certificate: pass and you receive a certificate to submit with your NJ application. You apply to NJ yourself; we provide guidelines for the process.
🔹 Bring your own pistol. New Jersey requires it.
What to bring
- 50 rounds of ammunition (9mm target ammo is available for $15 per box of 50)
- Eye and ear protection
- A holster made for your handgun. IWB is fine if it’s molded and doesn’t collapse.
- Spare magazines if you have them; belt mag carriers preferred
- Pants with belt loops and a sturdy belt
- Footwear for walking, running, and movement
- Course fees in cash
