Half Day Defensive Handgun – Afternoon Session

Carrying a handgun asks more of you than owning one. This half-day course builds the foundation that carrying concealed actually requires — safe handling, real proficiency, and the judgment to apply both under pressure.

It’s built for two kinds of shooters: those new to defensive shooting, and those coming back after time away who want to knock the rust off with focused, hands-on instruction. In a single session, you’ll move past square-range marksmanship and start building skills you can rely on.

You’ll leave carrying with skill you can trust.

What You’ll Work On:

✅ Safe handling & storage — the foundation everything else rests on
✅ Refining the fundamentals — grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
✅ Drawing from concealment — and re-holstering efficiently and safely
✅ Tactical & emergency reloads — building speed and consistency
✅ Malfunction management — an introduction to identifying and clearing stoppages
✅ Real-world application — putting the fundamentals to work under pressure

Ready to go further? Our full-day Defensive Handgun class builds on these skills with deeper malfunction work, engaging multiple targets, timed stress drills, and defensive mindset.

Who Can Attend: This course requires either a valid New York State pistol permit, or completion of the 18-Hour NYS Pistol Safety Course with Westchester Firearms Safety or Aim Small Instruction.

Essential Gear:

✅ Handgun — reliable striker-fired, DA/SA, or 2011-style pistol
✅ 150 rounds of ammunition
✅ A secure, molded holster (IWB accepted if it retains its shape)
✅ 3 handgun magazines (2 spares)
✅ Pants with belt loops & a sturdy belt
✅ Eye & ear protection — we have extras if you need them

Optional but Recommended:

🔹 Belt-mounted mag carriers — faster, cleaner reloads
🔹 Athletic footwear suitable for movement — no flip-flops, sandals, or gym shorts

No handgun? No problem. Loaner handguns are available at no charge — you simply purchase your ammunition from us. Ammo for the class is $45 for 9mm or $20 for .22. If you’re bringing your own handgun, ammo is available at the same price, or $15 per box of 50 rounds.

Register with a $40.00 Deposit (below). The remaining course tuition is due in cash on the course date.

Deposits are NOT refundable. You can reschedule a class with 72 hours’ notice. A registration can be rescheduled up to 2 times. If a 3rd reschedule is requested, payment in full will be required to secure a seat, and no further reschedules will be possible.
